If you wish to stay in Japan for a long period of time to study Japanese, you must obtain a “student visa.”
In order to obtain a student visa, you will need to prepare many documents, but we at Daiki Japanese Language School will support you.
About enrollment
* If you wish to stay in Japan for a long period of time to study Japanese, you will need to obtain a student visa. Daiki Japanese Language School Tokyo will go to the Immigration Bureau in Tokyo to apply on behalf of the applicant. It takes about 6 months to obtain a student visa.
* In principle, students are not permitted to work on visas (student visas), but by applying for and obtaining permission to engage in activities other than those permitted under the status of residence, it is possible to engage in part-time work up to 28 hours a week

Application Requirements
- Applicants must have completed at least 12 years of school education (*from elementary school onward) in a foreign country, have excellent grades, and have a strong desire to learn.
- Applicants must be able to abide by the laws of Japan and the rules of this school.
- Applicants must be able to pay for all expenses related to studying and living in Japan.
- Applicants must have passed JLPT N5 or equivalent.
* If you are studying on your own or have never taken an exam, or you do not have a certificate, please consult us. - Applicants must be within 5 years of graduation from the last school attended.
Flow from Application to Issuance of Visas for “Student” Status
Inquiries (6 months prior to enrollment)

Application and screening (5 months before admission)
Applicants are required to submit an application form. Applicants are required to submit an application form, which includes a document review, an interview, and a screening test to determine whether applicants meet the qualifications for admission.
Prepare for immigration examination (5 months prior to enrollment)
Once you receive notification of your acceptance, prepare the documents to apply for a student visa to be submitted to the Immigration Bureau in Japan and submit them to our school.
Screening by Immigration Bureau (4 months prior to enrollment)
The staff of Daiki Japanese Language School Tokyo will go to the Immigration Bureau in Japan (Tokyo) to apply on behalf of the prospective student. After submitting the application for the Certificate of Eligibility, the immigration inspection will begin.
It will take about two to three months to get the result of the application.
Results of immigration examination (1 and a half months prior to enrollment)
If the application is accepted, the Immigration Bureau will issue a Certificate of Eligibility. We will then notify the applicant of the issuance of the Certificate of Eligibility and send an invoice for the entrance fee, tuition, and other school expenses.
Payment of school fees (1 month prior to enrollment)
Applicants must pay the school fees to the bank account designated by the school.
After confirming the payment of the school fees, we will send you a certificate of eligibility, a letter of admission, and an enrollment guide.
Apply for visa (1 month prior to enrollment)
The applicant himself/herself submits the Certificate of Eligibility, the Letter of Acceptance, and the passport to the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General in his/her country and applies for a visa.
Entry to Japan and Enrollment
Enter Japan after obtaining a student visa. Study Japanese and start your new life in Japanese.

The first year’s payment is a lump-sum payment. If you wish to pay in installments, please contact us.

The tuition fee includes extracurricular studies fee, social studies field trip fee, and life guidance fee.
- Students are responsible for paying their own examination fees for JLPT, EJU, and others.
- The above premiums are the mutual aid system that our school applies for in addition to the National Health Insurance. Students are enrolled in the “Foreign Student Compensation System” approved by the Japanese Government so that they can focus on learning Japanese with peace of mind, as they may receive treatment for illness or accidents.

Payment can be made via Flywire or bank transfer.

In the case of bank transfer, a separate remittance fee will be charged. Please note that it will be the responsibility of the applicant.

Please make sure to pay the payment by the designated date. If the payment is not confirmed by the designated date, it will be considered as refusal of admission and will be cancelled.

Cancellation Policy
■ Cancellation before entering Japan
If the applicant declines to enroll due to circumstances, please submit a written request at least one day before the entrance ceremony. We will ask you to return the Certificate of Eligibility and the Letter of Acceptance, and refund the tuition after confirming the documents. If your visa is not issued by the consulate, you will also need to submit a non-issuance stamp in your passport.
■ Cancellation after entering Japan
If the applicant declines enrollment due to circumstances, the first 6 months of tuition is non-refundable; the remaining tuition, excluding the 6 months of tuition, will be refunded upon confirmation of the applicant’s returning home country.
■ Cancellation after enrollment
If you wish to terminate the course in the middle of the term (after attending the entrance ceremony and starting classes), you will need to consult with us and notify us. Upon receipt of the notification, the remaining tuition for the next term and thereafter, excluding the first six months of tuition, will be refunded. However, refunds will be made in three-month increments, and a cancellation administration fee of 20% of the refund amount will be charged. Refunds will be made after confirmation of your return to your home country, or after you change your status of residence to one of the following: Higher education, employment, or other status of residence in Japan.

The recipient (the applicant) is responsible for all remittance fees when making a refund.

Please note that the school is not responsible for any losses or problems that may occur during the remittance process.
- If classes are cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances such as natural disasters, accidents or infectious diseases, they will be exempted from responsibility. The tuition for those classes are non-refundable.
